Fantastische Erfahrung: Excellent services from owners with friendly. It is nice atmosphere around hotel with parking lot. Good restaurant around here for dining. Very nice rooms and nice decorations with heaters but hotel has not elevator. The road to hotel is very nice scenes but it is not wide roads. Here is near the Glacier 3000.

Positive Erfahrung: We had a nice time at the Hotel du Pillon. From the check-in to the time we left, the staff and who we assumed was the owner were very nice and friendly. If you like a family hotel, with the owners' family kids running around and a very blurry line between what's private and what's public, this hotel is for you. A little TLC and deeper cleaning wouldn't hurt, but I'm being picky. The breakfast is good, some delicious local products. Dinner was a little disappointing (we had the fish - the fish itself was actually good, but the roasti and veggies tasted frozzen - too bad in the summer. Maybe we should have picked more mountany options...). Overall, good! Thank you for hosting us.

Fantastische Erfahrung: My friend and I had a wonderful stay at this charming, rustic-style hotel. The place was clean, cozy, and full of character. The owner, with his great sense of humor, added a special touch to our experience. He even went out of his way to give us a lift to the train station, making our departure smooth and stress-free. Negative Erfahrung: The hotel is not at the col du Pillon, as the name may suggest. If you are looking to stay in yown, that's not the place to be either. The building is charmfull, however with such old infrastructure comfort is not at the top. For instance walking makes a lot of noise on those old uneven woooden floors. There were tenths of flies in our room. Literally. Breakfast is not the best and we feel like food is rationed, as well as it is the case for dinner. You won"t be able to wait for diner time and check the Restaurant to decide whethee it is worth it. You will need to reserve the table and dish way in advance. Plan well the time to arrive, the hotel has restrictions. If you arrive a bit earlier than planned you will be received, but they will make sure you understand they are making you a huge favor. The hotel is run by owners with little assistance and although I have to admire their determination, I think they should hire more employees The guests would feel more comfortable if they did not have to think they are making someone overwhelmed by just asking a minimum that is expected in terms of service. It feels more like you are renting a room inside their house than in a hotel. That could be nice, but a little bit of reservation would help guests feel a bit more at ease. Basically the hotel is OK, but overpriced and overrated for what you can get around. I wonder how did they get such a good rate.

Fantastische Erfahrung: I had a delightful stay at Hotel Du Pillon, a charming old building only 30 minutes walk from Les Diablerets. The room was simple but perfectly functional, with a nice balcony to enjoy the stunning scenery. Francis was very helpful and even gave me a ride to the train station so I didn't need to walk with my heavy bags. I would visit again!

Fantastische Erfahrung: Utterly delightful experience at historic Hotel du Pillon. We had American friends visiting us in Switzerland and they wanted a truly authentic Swiss Alps experience. Hotel du Pillon could not have been more perfect. Gorgeous views of the Alps and the small mountainside chalets, the little village (walkable from hotel), and neighboring small farms. Very close to Glacier 3000 which offers spectacular Alps views and activités like walking along the glacier to a small restaurant. But best of all was proprietor Francis’ hospitality. He made us feel so at home as we enjoyed the terrace, the fireplace room, and the living room. He made sure we had everything we needed for our picnic one day. And he had a great sense of humor and great recommendations for activities, restaurants, etc. We will be back for sure. Highly recommend.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Un hôtel authentique tout comme ses propriétaires. Nous avons passé un super week-end au Diablerets! L’emplacement de l’hôtel est parfait pour se rendre au Peak walk by Tissot! Le petit déjeuner est très bien et les produits sont locaux et frais! De plus, la petite compagnie de miss Plume était pour moi très agréable ! Les chambres disposent de très belles vues sur les sommets aux alentours. Je recommande sans hésitation!

Negative Erfahrung: A little late posting this review. Hotel located outside of town but close enough to walk to and from. Can be quite steep coming back from town, but it's not too bad, I'm just not as fit as I used to be Hotel looks nice from the outside and there is some seating on the terrace but unfortunately meals are not permitted on terrace. The double room is smaller than what I would expect considering the amount that are being charged for the rooms. I experienced a few issues with the room I had booked. The room was cold, the radiator was below lukewarm and a draft could be felt from the edges of the window. When I mentioned this to the owner, he clearly did not believe me and made such a scene trying to convince me there wasn't a problem and stating that the whole hotel was at the same temperature. Furthermore he made quite a show of showing me the thermometer in the lobby. What can I say? The thermometer clearly shows a hot temperature, but I'm sure that has nothing to do with the roaring fire a few meters away. One of the other guests found this amusing and likened the owner's reaction to that of Basil Fawlty. Before booking, i did contact the hotel to see if the room had a double bed or single beds. Was told that it was a double bed in the room so i went ahead with the booking. However, on arrival, the room may have a double bed, but 2 single mattresses doesn't make it so. The single mattress made the bed tilt to one side, and the gap in the middle of the bed did not improve the comfort. The shower head should be replaced as the water was spraying in all directions apart from centrally. There was a lot of limescale on the shower head, but even after i made a good attempt at cleaning the shower head, the performance did not improve. Trying to take a shower was not easy. The room did not look like it was cleaned during my stay. In fact, it didn't seem like it was cleaned prior to my arrival as there were a lot of bits on the floor and a number of dead flies around the window sills. The only thing that did appear to be done in the room was just to have the bed made. It also seemed like the room was an access to a storage area in that there was a big opening in the ceiling where I could clearly see the attic with all sorts of items being stored. And probably more draft coming from the attic. This is not really the type of thing I would expect to see when paying so much money for a room. They could have at least made an effort to put some type of door or wall to block off the attic. Room aside, the breakfast was also not to my liking. When I contacted the hotel beforehand, I also wanted to check if a cooked breakfast would be provided, and this was confirmed. However, the only cooked option available was fried eggs, which you to cook yourself…….under supervision. Otherwise it was just the usual cold options you would expect; cereal, bread/toast, etc. My friends were staying at another hotel, and unfortunately they were not allowed to come and join me for dinner at the Hotel du Pillon. The owner told us that dinner at the hotel was for staying guests only. This surprised me because every time I went past the dining room in the evenings, it wasn't even half full. My personal opinion was that my stay could have been better if the owner cared a little more for his guests and his rooms. N.B. This review is only of my experience during my stay.

Fantastische Erfahrung: A wonderful experience with the friendliest staff. We didn't eat dinner there but all the features of this charming hotel were present. Healthy breakfast, comfortable rooms, beautiful views. We arrived right after a big snowfall, and you couldn't have witnessed greater beauty. We'll be back for sure. Thank you!

Fantastische Erfahrung: Une réservation chaleureuse, une accueil vivant et vrai: ça fait du bien! Venu en train, l'hôtel est à 5 minutes à pied de l'arrêt. Parfait emplacement pour débuter les randonnées. L'offre du petit déjeuner est parfaite, le pain, confitures sont bonnes. Mention spéciale pour le gruyère doux qui est divin. Après une journée en vadrouille, on ne se lasse pas d'admirer les couchés de soleil depuis la terrasse. Notre Berger blanc suisse a été accueilli aussi bien que nous! Merci pour ce beau moment. Allez-y les yeux fermés.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Von A-Z super! Wir waren für 4 Nächte Gäste im Pillon. Wunderschön gelegen, sehr sehr nette und persönliche Gastgeber*in. Grosszügige Zimmer, grossartiges Essen! Tolles Frühstücksbuffet und wunderschöne Terrasse (Südseite) mit schönen Pflanzen und Blumen und Aussicht auf die Berge (Abendrot). Wir kommen gerne wieder. Merci beaucoup!

Fantastische Erfahrung: Ganz besonderes Hotel mit sehr viel Charme. Die familiäre Atmosphäre hat uns sehr zugesagt; und war ausgesprochen wohl und die Lage ist wirklich sehr gut. Francis ist ein aufmerksamer Gastgeber mit viel Esprit. Frühstück und Abendessen haben uns sehr zugesagt … das Rezept für die Macaroni haben wir gerne mit nach Hause genommen. Fantastische Erfahrung: Superbe hôtel! La décoration est typiquement suisse, la fondue maison est excellente et Francis et son équipe sont d'une générosité incroyable. Cet hôtel offre une expérience typiquement suisse. Quand nous ouvrions les fenêtres nous entendions les cloches des vaches en plus de profiter de la vue sur les diablerets. Un grand merci pour cette belle expérience!

Fantastische Erfahrung: We approach the village of Le Bovets in darkness because the clocks have just gone back into the winter snowy time of the Alps. The train ride from geneva was smooth and bordering Lac Leman.. But then, a mere hop and walk from train station we are at the door of an empty low lighted hotel. We are shown to the room and we sit in the bed 10min. We make a phone call. unpack the bag. pack the bag. drop keys and runaway from this uncaring heartless gloomy hotel we found on booking website. We call the next on the list and Francis responds immediately and drives down to picks up in his jeep. An amusing, lively clever Parisian, half Swiss born Art Gallerist who bought and refurbished this magnificent historic hotel offering panoramic views of the Diablerets Glacier, facing south slope, with all its walls plastered with artworks, drawings, paintings, photos and alpine postcard views. The hotel is a chef d'oeuvre. Hotel du Pillon has charm character. Rooms are warm cozy with balconies. Food, piano, books, paintings, sculptures, walls painted red, wine bottles, sofas, chimeney, guests and light pours invitingly from the windows and the quiet murmur of snowy footsteps and mountains echoes. This is the kind of Allpine hotel I would imagine Wes Anderson film scouts would spend production money searching for. It is a like an advent calendar of loveliness, swissness, style, caring in the uncaring way. If I could invite myself, I would spend the whole winter painting in the yoga, billiard, meeting room in the top floor. Call me when you decide to make open artist residencies available.

Negative Erfahrung: We just had a one-night stay in Les Diablerets in this hotel. We are quite familiar with Les Diablerets and tried this hotel for the first time due to lack of availability of other structures. We booked from the hotel website and were informed that check-in was planned to be at 4pm, but also requested to inform the hotel about our arrival time, so we did. We arrived around 12pm and even if the room was clearly ready, the host refused to give us the keys. Please note that I am not complaining because of the missed early check-in opportunity, but for the way this person was behaving with us. Hotel room is nice and recently renovated, I don't get why the hanger in the shower is missing and you need to keep the shower in your hand for all the time (such as you are in an old bath tube). Common spaces are nice and not well clean as rooms - we were asked if we were planning to have dinner there, when we said no, we got the following answer 'Good, better for me if you are not staying'. Breakfast has good coffee (Nespresso machine is available), food is not amazing nor local (LIDL jams, not fresh orange juice). There are better places in Les Diablerets, for sure.

Fantastische Erfahrung: We had a wonderful stay at the historic Hotel du Pillon! The staff and owner went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The room and hotel common spaces were cozy and we had a beautiful view of the mountains. Arriving to the hotel, we got stuck on an icy road leading up to the hotel. The helpful staff were able to rescue us and bring us safely to the hotel with the help of their adorable dog. Once we were settled in, she started a fire in the fireplace, helped us pick a bottle of wine, and prepared one of the best fondues either of us has ever had. Breakfast was also exceptional and the owner gave great recommendations for activities to do in the area. If going in the winter, would recommend driving a 4x4 if possible.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Excelente sitio, muy acogedor, con una historia desde 1872. Trato de casa, el dueño Francis muy amable, habla varios idiomas y siempre te aconsejara lo más adecuado. Chimenea, libros, pelis y una buena colección de pelis... Comida rica, selección de cervezas artesanales y vinos. Comida hecha a mano. Piano que alguien puede tocar... Parking abajo. Que más para ser feliz? Al lado de un glaciar de 3000 m.. pistas de esquí... me dio pena marcharme. Pero volveré pronto!

Le diner a été parfait, l'accueil très sympathique et la décoration fabuleuse. Une vraie galerie d'art! Nous avions réservé trois chambres et nous avons tous merveilleusement bien dormi. Propreté irréprochable, literie d'excellente qualité. Les grands balcons sont un plus pour admirer cette vue fabuleuse. Nous reviendrons avec un immense plaisir.Le charme de cet hôtel nous a beaucoup séduits. Merci à la direction de nous a avoir offert de découvrir ce joyau historique en pleine nature.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Wonderful from the first seconds. Totally recommended. The owner picked us up from the train station and a wonderful meal was waiting for us. They have an adorable dog named "Plume" and a lazy cat that are a great company for the common spaces. The view is great and the balcony as well. Being cosy and quiet, it's the perfect place to connect with yourself and nature.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Après avoir passé une journée dans la montagne nous sommes restés 1 nuit au hotel. L'accueil et le service ont été super chaleureux. La chambre a été propre, avec balcon, même si pas du côté du glacier. Mais le high-lite c'est le dinner sur la terrasse avec une vue sur le glacier. Super bon repas et parmi les meilleures vins blancs que j'ai jamais bu. Nous y retournerons!

Fantastische Erfahrung: Accueil chaleureux, jolie chambre! Un hôtel inoubliable. Un véritable musée à visiter et contempler. L'ambiance y est légère, cosi et très conviviale. Jolie terrasse ou il fait bon vivre...La nourriture est délicieuse. Etant végétarienne, Francis m'a préparé les macaronis au Gruyère sans viande; je vous les recommande! Au plaisir de revenir dans votre hôtel et merci pour tout!

Negative Erfahrung: Der Service ist sehr Mangelhaft. Das Zimmer wurde nicht gemacht, auch nach dem man es gesagt hatte das es vergessen gegangen ist. Der Gast muss selber schauen das er frische Handtücher & WC-Papier bekommt. Das Personal ist nicht Hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer ist ganz Okey aber Achtung man darf nicht ohne Socken laufen wegen den Nagelkopf am Boden. Auch Steckdosen sind nicht gut montiert. Nach einmal Duschen ist auch die Duschbrause zerbrochen. Es hat immer noch alte vertrocknete Weihnachtsdekorationen (Besuch im Juni). Der Preis für so etwas ist zu hoch. Für Familie ist es sehr ungeeignet denn Kinder sind nicht gewünscht. Das Personal hat keine Hotel-/Serviceerfahrung.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Un seul mot... "exceptionnel"!! Magnifique découverte aux Diablerets avec l hôtel du Pillon. Magnifique bâtiment avec une décoration intérieure à couper le souffle. Accueil très chaleureux et service sans aucun reproche. Magnifique chambre au dernier étage. Salle de billard, petit-déjeuner avec produits locaux. Superbe terrasse avec vue sur les montagnes. Endroit très calme mais à la fois proche du centre des Diablerets. Vous m'avez compris, rien à redire c est un 10 sur 10! A conseiller pour tout séjour aux Diablerets, été comme hiver.

Tout est fait pour vous sentir bien près du feu qui crépite. Un hôtel de petite taille charmant qui convie ses hôtes à échanger sur leur journée. Un endroit rare pour les amateurs d authenticité.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Какое удовольствие находиться в этом отеле! В камине потрескивает огонь, звучит классическая музыка, а за окном тихо падает снег. Для полного счастья можно почитать книгу из минибиблиотеки на втором этаже. Мое пребывание было похоже на рождественскую сказку! Спасибо Франсису, Наоми и Мишель за теплую и душевную атмосферу. Я обязательно вернусь!

Negative Erfahrung: Hotel à éviter absolument. Cette fausse maison de vacances est dirigée par un personnage hautain et méprisant qui a le mépris du client à qui il "donne son rototo". Le service est nul, la nourriture mauvaise parfois même avariée, les chambres sont infestées de mouches et l'hôtel (peut-il mériter ce nom ?) n'est pas aux normes incendie, cela fait peur.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Hôtel suisse magnifique comme on peut en rêver avec une déco très réussie avec des tableaux partout. les chambres sont agréables avec wifi gratuite disponible. deux salons dont un avec le poêle en céramique; une pièce de collection. l'autre est propice aux jeux de cartes et à la lecture au calme. Petite bibliothèque au premier étage (demandez à Francis l'autorisation d'emprunter un bouquin...). On se croirait chez soi. L'accueil est vraiment à la hauteur avec Francis qui est à vos petits soins et ne sait quoi faire pour vous satisfaire, aidé qu'il est par Monsieur Jacques notamment pour le service; c'est un excellent sommelier; aux fourneaux une nouvelle cuisinière Anne-Sophie (en fait une artiste peintre avec des talents cachés); demandez lui de vous préparer un tiramisu précédé d'un hachis Parmentier de canard confit. Bref que du bonheur, nous sommes restés une semaine complète à six pour skier; nous y retournerons certainement. Didier and Co.

Positive Erfahrung: Lovely hotel that worth your money. I hope they had a la carte for dinner instead of set dinner, because I'm vegetarian. Muesli fan will love the breakfast buffet with many local yoghurt flavours to choose and variety of grains. I had a pleasant and relax stay here (though there's no lift and no bell boy helping with luggages up 2 floors). Manager is friendly and helpful but very busy. Don't be afraid to talk with him though.

Positive Erfahrung: The welcome was prefect and the guide given by the owner was perfect. The hotel has a very homely look and feel. Wi-Fi was perfect and I didn't have any problems. The shower was perfect with good space. The room size was average, however the bed was slightly poor since I had requested for a double bed and it was 2 single beds put together, also the blanket looked a bit too old. The floor wasn't swept well. So in terms of cleanliness it's an average. The television wasn't working however I didn't report it since I didn't want to make a big issue about it and I was spending a lot of time outdoors anyways.
